  3. Chesney, I am very sorry your family is dealing with the news of brain mets. My husband Alan had a brain met and I was devastated when the Drs told me. Alan had a single met near his brain stem. Alan was treated with WBR and IMRT and I am happy to say that was over 2 years ago. Alan is a 2.5 year survivor of extensive small cell. I will be praying for your family. please keep us posted.
  4. Although we do not have a true "changing of the seasons" here in So Cal the air is crisper. Also I live for college football. Alan and I have no problem spending the day watching college football. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. My entire family is together (and my birthday is right around Thanksgiving). I am one of the few people who loves their birthday, and with my whole family around it doesn't get any better.
  5. My best friend and husband Alan
  6. Well this is always a touchy subject with my nieces as it seems those string things they call underware seem to always be showing above their jeans. Constant battle between my siter and her daughters. Half the young men nowadays have so much of their underware showing it makes me wonder why they bother with pants!!!! So telling today's younger generation that their underware was showing would probably get you the roll of the eyes Under "normal circumstances" and probably depending on how well I knew the person Yes I would tell them their underware was showing
  7. Boy am I late to the party and many rounds behind, but I finally finished my bio/chem project (32 pages long) and need a break. Also celebrating the fact Alan's recent scans came back STABLE Contrats to Aaron and Julia, may they have many many happy years togehter. Ry and John, may you also enjoy many more years of happiness.
  8. Alan is famous for locking himself out of just about everything. I used to had direct dial to the Ford dealership to have new keys made. The one time he locked himself out of the house he just kicked the door in. As it was the door leading from the garage to the kitchen, and I came in the front door from work I thought someone had broken in. Needless to say we had a week-end project putting the door jam back together.
  9. Jack, I am very sorry to learn of your loss, May God be with you.
  10. Here is an even worse example. I am an athlete and I do not even consume 1 glass of water a day, been that way my entire life. I am a camel. One of my Drs who is an elite athlete is the exact same way. the body is amazing, it will adapt.
  11. B-, never had children so not an issue for me. Alan is O+
  12. My very loud alarm clock is set every morning. I would not wake up at 4:15am on my own
  13. Aaron, Always good to see you post. Poo is part of Alan's battle. His Dr. finally found a persciption that worked for Alan (can't remember what it is right now) after many diffent remedies didn't work to keep him on "schedule" When is the big wedding day??? I will be anxiously waitng for pictures to be posted.

  16. I was home getting ready for work with the news on as I do every morning. They were reporting on the 1st plane hit when the 2nd plane hit the other tower. I knew then that this was no accident. My 1st thought was Alan, who as at the airport getting ready to fly. He had no idea what was going on. I told him and he left the airport to come home. My uncle's best friend Carl is a fireman in NYC. He took the day off that day and his entire company was killed. Carl lives with that guilt still today. My best friends brother keeps his itinerary from that day. He was scheduled to fly home on the Boston flight, but left a day earlier. It reminds him how each day is a gift.

  20. My Alan, Have a great picture of him on my desk and I look at it all day. If I am having a bad moment I just look at Alan and all is good.
  21. Alan and I both love Ribeyes. Rare to medium rare and just add salt and pepper while on the grill. We eat them fresh off the grill. Yummy
