  2. Yes I am a patient person, not much rattles me.
  3. There are a few things still on my bucket list, Travel to Ireland Go to the Masters Golf Tournament Go back to school and get another degree (working on that one now)
  4. I CAN NOT stand to shop. Hate it.
  5. Well like you Ann, Alan and I are huge Manning fans, so we were happy to see one Manning brother make it to the next round. Will have to admit, not the Manning we were expecting. As much as I hate to say it, I do not think anyone will beat the Patriots, and to me they are public enemy number 1

    Proton Therapy?

My Husband had IMRT to his brain tumor. The treatment was very successful. Alan had the thearpy 2 years ago and tumor has never returned
  7. It's been a while since I read a really good book, but I would recommend The Five People you meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom.
  8. Aaron and Julia, Happy to see you post, and I am very sorry you are feeling so bad. Many prayers are coming your way
  9. (((ANN))) Happy to see you post again. I hope you find a job soon. I still have a job, but my wages have been cut to the lowest in 7 years.
  10. To get back into shape. I used to workout everyday, but have been side tracked with life in general. Time to make time for myself and start sweating again I love to sweat!!!! Not sure what lies ahead for 2008, just want to get Alan through chemo and stable once again. All I know is 2007 started with Alan's cancer coming back and ended with Alan's cancer coming back. We were both very happy to see 2007 end and 2008 start.

    Boxing Day

Thank you for opening your soul to us. (((Teri)))
  12. Hi Ghita, My husband Alan has been battling the beast for almost 3 years now. His road has been a bumpy one, with another large bump just recently when we found his cancer returned again. Please read his profile and know that, although it is a battle, it can be fought. How do we get through? Very simply a day at a time. Sounds simple I know, but to try and get through any other way is almost impossible. You and your husband will find your "new normal" between the Dr. appointments and dreaded scans. Enjoy every moment and do not let the cancer control you in anyway. By over thinking it you let the beast win. Prayers to you and your husband
  13. Even though we had just gotten the news about Alan's cancer returning, we had a very good Christmas. We deviated from our usual gathering at my sisters and everyone came over to my home on Christmas Eve so Alan could see everyone open their gifts. Christmas day was quiet, Alan slept most the day and I enjoyed reading a book from beginning to end with no interuptions. All in all a very good Christmas
  14. Alan and I would like to say Merry Christmas and a most Blessed New Year to everyone on the board. We have both drawn such strength from all of you, cried with those who have suffered the utlimate loss of a loved one, and celebrated the news of NED with others. Happy Holidays to All
  15. continued prayers for Connine
  16. Connie, Many special and extra prayers will be said by Alan and myself that your surgery is successful. I know your strength will have you coming back to us.

    spam

I received a spam also from another person, sorry I delted before I could see what it was, but came from 593.
  18. I would be ready, because what you see is what you get. I no longer worry about what my house looks like. I hope they are coming over to see Alan and I and not my house.
  19. I would say my favorite is O Holy Night.
  20. Hi Starr, I am sorry you need us, but glad you found us. I am the wife of a wonderful man (Alan) who on Jan 10 2008 will have survived 3 years with ext. SCLC. Please read Alan's profile. Does it get easier, yes I think it does. You will find your "new normal" as I like to call it. Scan time is always the worst, because I think it brings the reality of the situation right in front of you. The key is, no matter what, do not let the beast control you. If you are "thinking" about the "possiblity" of the cancer coming back, then the beast has control. Prayers that you continue to kick the crap out of the beast.
  21. I sort of wrap as I go. Not everything at once (did that one year on Christmas Eve and was up until 2am ) so I wrap a few at a time.
  22. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting
  23. My husband unfortunatley had a brain met so had WBR and not PCI. Alan has survived 2.5 years since WBR and on Jan 10th of 2008 will be a 3 year survivor of extensive SCLC. Alan has had some minor side effects associated with his WBR, short term memory loss, dimished hearing in one ear, but all things considered enjoys a good quality of life. So Alan didn't have a choice, given a choice I am afraid I can not answer your question, but wanted to share our experiences with you just the same.
