  1. And here is my experience: I had two nodules, one in each lung. the one in the lft was 1 cm, the right lung nodule was smaller. Needle biopsy was done on the larger nodule, inconclusive. Saw an oncologist (because of breast ca history) and a pulminologist, then sent to a surgeon. He took it out a short week later, and it was BAC. Nodule on the right lung has had very little change in the last 6 years. I highly recommend another opinion. gail

    News about Bill

I am so sorry for your loss. My you find support and love in the coming days. gail
  3. Good questions! My oncologist had told me that PET scans can read 7mm nodules, so I think another opinion from an oncologist is NOT a bad idea. I have had a long history with cancer and believe strongly in 2nd opinions and third opinions if needed. it will not hurt anything to see an oncologist with your films. Many of us have nodules that have existed quietly for years without any trouble. At the time of my lung cancer diagnosis I had two nodules. I had the oncologist, surgeon, and pulminologist look at the films. They all felt that one was serious and the other was not. 6 years later the cancer is gone and the other nodule has not changed at all. let us know. gail

  8. Bernie Siegel's books saved me too. You should start with Love, Medicine and Miracles and go from there. Many of the books are on tape (CD) so if you are in the car it is a perfect time. He also has mediation tapes--I used them A LOT. gail
  9. I had chemo with the breast cancer, and although I lost my hair, my eyebrows and eyelashes did not disappear. I had thick eyebrows and eyelashes to begin with. I know that one eye's lashes did not return to normal. When I was going through chemo I remember walking up to the Clinque counter and telling this little 20 something that I was going through chemo and needed good concealer. She turned white with fear. It was at my breast cancer support group that I heard about Astroglide. Now that was 10 years ago and NOBODY mentioned dryness. Now they have commercials . . . gail

    "Not emotional"

I am not in your shoes, and don't know your pain. But I do think we have to teach people what we've learned through our journey. Through my travels (14 years) with cancers, I have become very vocal with my opinions, especially since John Q. Public DOESN'T KNOW. It's like when 30 years ago (((sigh))) I asked coworker when she was going to have a baby. At that time I didn't know about infertility. Why would I? I was 22, and my mother has 6 kids! How ironic that 10 years later I learned about infertility when I wasn't able to get pregnant a second time. big hugs gail
  14. I have a very good friend whose PET lit up (non lung cancer patient), and all the lit spots were infection, not malignancies. keep asking those questions gail

  25. I still have Leslie's PMs in my mailbox. I think of her every time I open my mailbox. A friend of mine died in 99 of breast cancer leaving a husband and 3 little boys to grieve. At the same time, one of their neighbors died of colon cancer, leaving a wife and 3 children. Did you guess it? The spouses married 2 years ago. I know Karen would be pleased. And Leslie would be happy for you too. gail
