Crap Sharon. I was hoping you would get a break. Sorry to hear that you have play overtime. Will keep you in our prayers that it does the trick with minimal side effects.
  3. I have no real advice, just prayers for you guys. Our son Jack is 3, and Col and I are as turthful as you can be with a 3 yo. He knows Mommy's been sick for a while, understands that there are still days when she doesn't feel well, and understands that this will probably be around for a while. If he has any specific question he asks, we answer honestly, whether or not he understands it. I figure if he's smart enough to stump us with some questions, he's at least smart enough to understand some of the answer. I'm sure there are professionals out ther who can help, and probably a billion peices of advice on google.
  4. Thank you for the post. I was just crushed when I saw the locked post on the general forum. I almost couldn't bring myself to click down here.
  5. I hate to admit it, but that was funny.

    Aaron

Oh my God...My heart just sank. Julia I am so terribly sorry. I can't even type, I have no words. I always admired Aaron's courage and outlook on this whole mess. He was a true warrior. Please accept our deepest sympathies and prayers, and don't hesitate to come here for help. Please let us know if you need anything. Many many prayers.
  8. Believe it or not I go to the grocery store the same day, with a list. I guess I should mention that it's the same day every YEAR, with a list. I go the day before Christmas eve, with a list that includes, shrimp, Crab legs, and clams for my christmas eve seafood extravaganza. Now you guys know why I look so drunk in the pic Col has of us from christmas eve...that cooking is hard work.
  9. Wow, that pretty much sums up my life, and Col's still with us battling away. I totally relate to your feelings. You will only be able to hide it from friends and coworkers, eventually it comes out whether you want it to or not. "You shouldn't feel like that". Oh Ok, good then I'll just stop. I feel that all the time. I'm actually tempted to smack people who say stuff like that. My neighbor's like that, perfect idea of a perfect world, and everything should be done this way. Well you just gotta be like this or do this. Some days I'm convinced that even if this stupid damn disease doesn't take your body, it will still take your spirit and that of those closest to you. But that's just how I feel today. Tomorrow may be better, maybe worse. Sorry to ramble. Just wanted to let you know that while I can't comprehend your loss, I totally understand your feelings.

AWESOME, AWESOME NEWS NIC!!!!! Congrats...Nothing like a new little baby...
  12. Mine usually get tossed after I read them.
  13. Col, do we have a kitchen????? lol
  14. Let's see. I go by a couple. All my college buddies called me Shamokin, becasue that's the town I was originally from. That stuck pretty good, in fact, I'd bet half the people I went to college with don't even know my real name. Obiviously there's my initials, JB. A lot of people at work and previous jobs called me that. And then there's the family nickname, of just calling me Jr., becasue well, Im a junior. I've been called a lot of other not so nice things, but I don't think they were meant as nicknames.

    AWESOME NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Those are all classics...I'll have to watch them again at home to hear the volume, if there is any. Notice how almost all of them involve some type of technology causing problems... I would love to know where that one guy went to get the sledgehammer...lol

  18. Oh this is going to be good. Go ahead guys and gals...work your magic and show Vernon what we're made of. This is like getting a pep talk all over again... There is a lot of hope Vernon, just sit back and read all about it.
  19. Very funny Connie. The one about still having the driver's license reminds me of my grandfather.
  20. Paperback. After they removed Col's brain tumor they did 15 whole brain radiation treatments as well as 15 lund radiation treatments concurrently, while she was doing her chemo. Seems to be a normal occurance. Hopefully it relieves some of her symptoms.
  21. Holy Crap Janet, that's an amazing story. Thanks for sharing it with us, it is a great reminder of why so many of the strong survivors on here keep fighting.
  22. Well Ry, therein lies the problem...Dad loves hockey. Played street hockey all the time growing up. Has been ice skating a couple times...Never actually played ice hockey. So I'm taking an adult instructional course that will hopefully teach me how to skate well enough to play ice hockey. 6 weeks of instruction 12 weeks of games. In addition, once Jack sees Daddy doind it, he'll want to do it. They start them out at the local rink at 4 y.o., so next year at this time, he'll be out there I'm sure. I'm already teaching him how to drop the gloves correctly. We've also worked on hooking, slashing, and cross checking in the living room as well.
  23. Holy cow...I take a break from coming to chat and the place falls apart without me, people quit showing up, less drinking. I taught you guys better than that. Just been busy as heck, and now, Hockey starts next Tuesday so I doubt I'll be able to make it. That is until I break something, then I'll be back to you sooner than you would wish.
