  1. Crank up the woodstove. Turn on the space heater. Wrap up in a blanket.
  2. I am very happy for you. Health care jobs (so far) seem to be secure and one of the few areas still hiring. Good luck.
  3. See my kids as adults. Become a grandmother. Retire someplace warm.
  4. I am so sorry Beck. I thought about you when I read that your company would be laying people off. Michigan is in such a mess right now and things just seem to be going downhill. I hope unemployment will help you until you find something else. I can't even imagine what a blow this was for you. Rochelle
  5. Spam-- especially the **Word not allowed** junk. If I get one more e-mail on how to make my penis bigger I am going to scream. All the information that is completely incorrect ( I made the mistake of Googling my company the other day). Private information that should not be made public being available on the net. Only three? I could go on and on.
  6. It's hard to watch someone you care about suffer. Hopefully they can make him comfortable soon.
  7. It sounds like they have the results quickly they are just having issues getting you in to get them. You could ask them to fax you the report before the appointment- we used to do that if there was a delay. Then you will have your copy to go over at the apt. It's good you are advocating for yourself. You shouldn't have to wait that long for your results. Rochelle
  8. It's a wonderful tribute to a great man.
  9. Having a fire in he fireplace and looking at the snow outside.
  10. My friend Beth who is also an attorney.
  11. The tree has left the building.
  12. Geez how did I miss your birthday? Happy belated birthday Muriel! Sorry I'm late to the party but I will buy you a beer at the pub.
  13. Amanda- Your father was a great guy and so supportive of others. He always went out of his way to suggest various treatment options and make others aware of cyber knife. I just posted on your mom's post that I feel he helped extend the lives of many individuals here. Although he couldn't save his own life I truly believe he saved many others by the information he posted. It's a wonderful legacy to leave. Your father spoke many times of his family and when you are ready you should read back through his posts. My sympathy for your loss. Rochelle
  14. I am so very sorry for your loss. Don was a wonderful person and helped so many people here. I think he most likely saved or extended the lives of many individuals that read his posts about treatment options available to them. That is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. My very deepest sympathy to you. Please feel free to join in here and let us know how we can help you get through this. Unfortunately many of us have also lost our spouses to this disease. Rochelle
  15. Congratulations -- what a wonderful way to start a new year.
  16. What is he taking for the cough? John had Tessalon Perles, and also took codeine pills and darvon for his cough. He discovered one time when he took darvoset for pain that it helped his cough so the doctor gave him a prescription for darvon.
  17. Judy- I am sure that even though the kids are grown up you still have "the look"-- you know the one that tells the kid do it again and you're dead? That look. That should keep everyone in place. Have a good time.
  18. Happy Birthday Ginny! I am buying at the pub. I hope you are doing well after your broken leg and able to get up on the bar stool. Cheers!
  19. Rich~ It's important to take a moment to be thankful for all the special people that come into our lives. You are very fortunate to have a good support system and people that care about you. Rochelle

    New to site...

I am very sorry about your father's diagnosis. If you go to the SCLC forum there is a post near the top (a sticky) about beating small cell lung cancer. I think the title is something like "how I beat SCLC" but you'll find it. There is a lot of good information that you could copy and paste into an e-mail for your mom and dad. Even from afar you can help with researching things for them. I hope your dad does well with his treatment. Keep us posted on how he does. Rochelle
  21. Someone gave me homemade cookies and fudge so I think I'll skip baking.
