  8. Hi Sue. A biopsy is the only way to know for sure. I have had several false positives show up on a scan and a biopsy subsequently showed them to be not cancer. Don M

  12. I have what appeared to be liver lesions or hemangiomas show up in my 2003 scans. They have not changed and are not even remarked on any more. I have had enlarged mediastinal nodes remarked on several times, but no longer because they don't change. Don M

  18. Hi Debi; I am glad your cardiac stuff turned out ok. I hate moving and it has got to be the stress of your move, juggling job responsibilities and taking care of Eric that whacked you. I am sure that things will smooth out for you as you get settled in. Pet your cat. Meow. Don M
  19. I think I have heard of others having bad breath associated with chemo. I googled chemo and bad breath and came up with a lot of hits. When I had my chemos, I went to have my teeth cleaned and told the dentist I was about to have chemo. He recommended a mouthwash to me, but I can't remember what it was. I am sure others will have some suggestions. Maybe you could call your mother's dentist and ask for a mouthwash recommendation. Your mother's oncologist should probably be made aware that she is having mouth problems too. Don M
  20. Missy, I am sorry to hear of your mother's decline. it is nice that you can be with her and comfort her on the weekends. Don M
  21. I never had much emotional stress, except for some depression, after I got my diagnosis. But I think it took a year and a half before it sunk in that I really had lc.. I could not really believe it for a long time. I still got the treatment, went through the motions of getting treatment and learning about the disease. I took lexapro off and on for a while, but no longer use it. What a deal...getting used to lc. Don M
  22. Whew! I am glad to hear the good news about your sister. I would have gotten the biopsy posthaste if were me. Now she has to monitor the spine spots? I guess the lymph nodes must have checked out ok. Don M
  23. Hi Lynne: You are in good hands at UW. I think the Swedish Tumor Institute is also a good place to go. They will soon have a bronchoscopy procedure available called SuperDimension Bronchus. It uses gps equipment that tracks a magnet at the tip of the probe. They should be able to navigate anywhere in the lung with it. Up to now, a bronchoscopy has been restricted to the upper third of the lung. I don't know if UW has that system yet or not. Here are some links: http://www.superdimension.com/news.html http://www.svcmc.org/body.cfm?id=1218 Don M I was born in Bremerton.
