  1. Curtis, you really are an amazing person. You are unfolding the intense pain that has been dealt you and learning the lessons within it. You're right, the lesson of living in the moment was learned so at such a great cost to you and Becky, but it is a lesson so many of us never learn and spend our lives waiting for life to happen. I admire your insight and courage. Gina P.S. I live on the outskirts of Orlando and have to kindly disagree with you all about the shallowness of Orlando. You have to look a little closer. If you only look at the mouse ears, bright lights, etc. you miss the beauty that lies all around you. We have swamps, wetlands, gators, the ocean so near and all sorts of wonderful things. And the people...they are the best! It is such a melting pot of cultures, etc. that people are very kind, open, and tolerant of differences. Hope you all get a chance to see the city closer some day. I'll be your tour guides next time.

    David A

(((((David's family)))) David has always been such a dynamic presence here. Like others, I'm completely in shock and at a loss of words. What an enormous loss to his boys, his wife Mary Ann, all of his family, and all of us here at lchelp that loved David so much. God bless you all in this most painful time. Gina
  3. Lillian, I don't have any clout, but have a mouth and fingers to type. Senator Graham is my Senator also and I will be glad to help in a letter writing campaign to Cat's first oncologist. Cat could you PM any of us that are willing to write, you first and last name? I see Shelly also started a thread about this. Here is the regional office address to her U.S. Senator. The Honorable Senator Bob Graham 150 Americas Center 150 Southeast Second Avenue, Suite 1025 Miami, FL 33131 or he can be emailed through this link: http://graham.senate.gov/email.html Gina
  4. So sorry to hear this David . It is amazing how much the furry friends come to mean to us.
  5. Very nice tribute, Don! Your mother and I would have been fantastic friends as I am also a HUGE fan of poetry and napping There's no shame in a nap - ask any cat you meet.
  6. Lillian, you are so right! What a special gift it is to REALLY loved and be loved - and to get a second chance at it is what all of us hopeless romantics dream of. Even when time is shortened, or years and life get in the way - just to have that is remarkable. Many people never even get one day in their lives of that kind of solid never-ending love. I hope your parents have years and years of making up for lost time.
  7. Lucie, so glad the Navelbine has been kinder to you. It sure does sound like the chemo is doing the trick, especially with the rib pain subsiding. I agree with everyone else, you and Don are an awesome team! Best Wishes, Gina
  8. That is so very cool! I was thinking of Lily and Johnny's love story as I read it also.

  11. Happy Birthday, Donna and many more!
  12. Your welcome, Tee Taa. I second what Jane said - love the picture. Gina
  13. Welcome back Jim! You're a wise and generous hearted man to give each of these people that love you your time individually - even when it must have been painful at times. Glad you managed to get some great trout fishing in. Almost nothing better for the soul than a little fishing. Oh and according to my grandfather, there is no such thing as "enough" fishing Gina
