  5. What's your favorite guilty pleasure movie? A guilty pleasure movie is one that's really, really bad and really, really stupid and really, really mindless (you get the idea) but one that you love anyway and will watch it every chance you get.

    Frog Story

A FROG A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack. "Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday." Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager. Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral. The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed. Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office. She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral." She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?" (you're gonna love this) (its a real treat) (a masterpiece) (wait for it) The bank manager looks back at her and says... "It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone." (You're singing it, aren't you? Yeah, I know you are........) Never take life too seriously! Come on now, you grinned, I know you did!!! Have a lovely day.
  10. Years ago, Dennis always called me his "Pookie Bear." I have no idea where this ever came from. When we moved to Florida and I met my friend Sue, he immediately started calling me "Annie-Roo." It was always Annie-Roo and Susie-Q. He only called me Pookie Bear occasionally from that point but called me his Annie Roo until the end. Some friends still call me "Annie-Roo" and I think of Dennis every time I hear it.

    Life without Mum

  12. I do believe your post is the most honest and open account of feelings after loss that I have ever read on this board. I'm sure you will deliver a beautiful, heart felt eulogy for your beautiful Deb. I am so very glad that your mother is there for you. Mothers have great big shoulders that are always available for their children to lean on. I'm also glad that you are able to gather happy memories through the photos. These happy memories of Deb will help you through some really dark and difficult times. I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how empty and broken you are feeling. Please know that I am saying prayers and asking God to give you strength and the ability to find peace somewhere in this tragedy that has befallen you. I am so glad Deb is "in the light" and is joined by other angels from this board that have gone before her.
  13. Do you have a nickname? How did you get it? Who gave it to you? Does anyone still call you by your nickname?
  14. Our house had a small cellar, not very deep at all, that was accessed from an outside door. The foundation of the house was block and some of the blocks were turned so they were open for ventilation. This seemed to always be the ideal setting for stray cats to have kittens. I adored cats but was never allowed to have inside cats. I would spend hours, sitting by that door, peeping in at those beautiful little kittens.
  15. I can just hear Leslie saying something like that! Thanks for giving us something to smile about, Amie!
  16. Amie...thanks for posting this.
  17. I am so very sorry to hear of Deb's passing. I think your commitment to continue the fight against this disease in her honor is a beautiful thing. Please know that we are here for you during this difficult time. Please know that I care and am asking God to help you through this.
  18. ((((((((((((((Denise))))))))))))))))) Wish I could deliver this hug in person. Your posts always have so strongly shown the deep love you have for your father. He will always be alive in your heart. In an interview that Josh Groban did after the release of "To Where You Are" he said that his grandmother used to always tell him..... "Every time you think of me, I will always be alive. Your memories will keep me alive." Denise, if we always remember them, they will live on in our hearts and minds!!!
  19. Val....losing your mother is something you will never get over. You will always think of her and miss her. The pain will lessen with time but your loss will always be there. Grief is something that knows no time table. There are some people that seem to forge ahead with life and there are others that are forever changed. Please don't ever feel that there is a set time or place that you have to move ahead. We love you, Val.

    Leslie Passed Away

I just keep thinking about how excited Leslie was about the trip she and Mark took to Rome. Thank God she was able to make that trip!!! I am so angry. Why do these bad things happen to such beautiful people?
