Malou,
Please do get yourself checked by the doctor. You will be able to get rid of the 'what if' stress that you are going through right now. Most likely it will turn out to be stress and anxiety. Be kind to yourself and take care of yourself as well as you take care of your husband.
Prayers
I ran across a post by him. His name is David Piercy. He had a pneumectomy in 1977. I was amazed by his story because he he said that had no chemo nor radiation. He said that he also had his surgery before the days of CT scan and PET scan machines. Last I heard he is still doing well and enjoying racing.
Wonderful news Hebbie! Yes Readers Digest has always enjoyed a vast and loyal readership. I think that is a fantastic vehicle to get the word out about lung cancer. I am looking forward to reading your interview.
You should never feel that you have to apologize for being proactive about your own healthcare and your own life. Your doctor is the one who is off base here. He knows how serious this awful illness is and he should be doing all that he can to take all the stress out of anything that he can for you. I had a doctor in the beginning who would not give me my PET scan reports. I learned how to go around her and get them myself and then I got rid of her sorry self when she told me that I was expecting too much.
