    Doubt

A Note from Max Lucado From Walking with the Savior Doubt Thomas came with doubts. Did Christ turn him away? Moses had reservations. did God tell him to go home? Job had struggles. Did God avoid him? Paul had hard times. Did God abandon him? No. God never turns away the sincere heart. Tough questions don't stump God. He invites your probing. Mark it down. God never turns away the honest seeker. Go to God with your questions. You may not find all the answers, but in finding God, you know the One who does.

  6. LAWYER AND FARMER A big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural Indiana. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing. The litigator responded, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it." The old farmer replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over here." The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the United States and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own. The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we se ttle disputes in Indiana. We settle small disagreements like this with the "Three Kick Rule." The lawyer asked, "What is the Three Kick Rule?" The Farmer replied, "Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up." The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom. The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the attorney. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy steel toed work boot into the lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick to the midriff sent the lawyer's last meal gushing from his mouth. The lawyer was on all fours when the farmer's third kick to his rear end sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie. The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet. Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, "Okay, Now it's my turn." The old farmer smiled and said, "Naw, I give up.You can have the duck."

    Good News!!

Great news! Congratulations! Joe P.S. I like the verse you quote in your signature....... Another great one is the one right prior.. I have an autographed photo of Kurt Warner (QB of the St Louis Rams) - and he signed with a reference to Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
  10. Welcome Joyce, I too am a never smoker. Its really odd to see so many of us here. I, in fact, am a fitness fanatic and have lifted weights and played all kinds of sports my whole life..... Do NOT listen to statistics. There are numerous cases of complete remission from this condition, and there are many here that are living quality lifes for may many years. there is plenty of reasons to be hopeful. I too inquired on the prognosis of never smokers with thi scondition, never found any studies or data on that. I did read from Patrick Quillan (wrote the book "beating cancer with nutrition") that he has had extremely good experience & results with with never smoking lung cancer patients that followed his nutritional/ suplement advice. Welcome, although I wish you didnt have to be here..... Joe
  11. thank you Michael & Heather- wonderful story... God Bless, Joe Romans 10:9-13 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

    Imagining Forever

Katie, Mercy Me is a very talented group. that is really cool that they are from your area. I can only imagine has "crossed over" to some pop / soft rock stations in Michigan! (Several years after being the top Christian song of the year.) It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I recommend all here find a copy and listen, it can be life (heart ) changing.. God Bless

    Are You Jesus?

This is interesting ... I just heard a sermon on God's grace by Pastor Adrian Rodgers (I think- may have beenWoodroll Kroll). He stated that grace isnt what most people think...it isnt a high paying job, that perfect house, great friends and relationships, or even perfect health... those are instances of God mercy & blessings that He does bestow at times... but God's Grace is the gift or transforming each of us into the image of Christ..... that is the ultimate reward from God - that we become examples of Christ in our lives.....we are made righteous (Justified) by our belief in His death & Resurrection and then we are sanctified through our service and submission to His will ... the transforming of our spirits to be Christ like
