  1. Sandy, all your news brought happy tears to my eyes! BeckyCW
  2. Wow... and those weren't 3000 of just any posts, either... they had a lot of meat in them! And a lot of laughs. Thanks, and way to go, Snowflake Becky. BeckyCW
  3. Cindi, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Shirley. I used to live in Western Montana; where is she? I know you will be a big support to her, and hope she will find her way here, too. Thanks for the update on you. I'm really glad to know you're feeling better, and hope you just keep feeling better and better and better. I have a lot of catching up to do, but am moving in very slow motion. Just wanted to say thanks for the update and hang in there. BeckyCW
  4. I have a lot of catching up to do, and was glad to see this update. Sandy, I hope you have only good news and that you're feeling better and back to us soon. I hear you're "lookin' good" -- Go ahead, knock their socks off! Sending every good wish, along with hugs and prayers, BeckyCW
  5. Carole, I'm so very, very sorry. Please accept my condolences and wishes for peace, strength, and happy memories. BeckyCW
  6. Beth, it was good to see you last week, and you looked good, even though it was the saddest occasion that brought us together. I'm glad to see your update today, and now I'll sound like an echo: Here's to forever - Make it yours. BeckyCW

Nancy, I'm so very sorry. My heart aches for you, and I wish you many happy memories, peace, and strength for the days ahead. BeckyCW
  8. Thank you, everyone, for your prayers, good wishes, and happy memories of DavidC. My “little brotherâ€
  9. "Over 3 years" will sound very good! Kinda rolls right off the tongue... Go, John, go! BeckyCW
  10. Isadora, I really enjoyed looking at your albums (both of them - Your tribute to your father is beautiful). The trip looks incredible - Please tell me where your Silk Road trip started and ended. This is a journey I've always wanted to make, myself! You and your husband look happy, and I'm so glad you got to take this trip! BeckyCW
  11. Thank you, everyone! I hear that yesterday when asked about the pain, David always gave a number well over 10 (on a 1-10 scale) My dad says at about 3pm today, he called it a 6. I guess that's good, but not good enough! Still, Daddy says David was laughing with the guys who rolled him down the hall for an xray today, and that wouldn't have happened yesterday. Of course, if there's something to laugh about, trust David to find it and make the most of it. Karen and my parents have been alternating visits to the hospital. This morning my mom took care of Faith, my dad was at the hospital with David, and Karen was working with several friends who came to help pack for the move. Now Karen's at the hospital and I just talked with my folks and Faith, who are at home (their RV at C-Acres). Thank you for your prayers for my "little" brother and for Karen, my parents and the rest of our family. It is a comfort to know you're all pulling for us, especially when times are really rough. 12. Just got a late-night email from my mom saying that David's still in great pain. The morphine was going to take up to 8 hours (once he finally got it) to really take effect. She said Thank God for Karen, who is kicking butt as needed, to get the doctors and nurses doing the right thing. He can't lie down due to the pain, so he's apparently been sitting in the wheelchair all this time. We're all really hating this. Does anyone else out there clench their teeth? I'm about to wear mine out. I'm looking forward to being there. My last trip was in late May and already it seems so long ago. Thanks for the good wishes and prayers, everyone. BeckyCW
  13. Karen took David to the emergency room last night because his pain was so bad. From what I understand, his pain was out of control until late afternoon today when they finally got him some morphine. When I talked to my parents last, they thought this would start to help him real soon. (Please, Lord!) My parents had just left the hospital and Karen was there with him. Please say a few more prayers that this intense pain will ease up for David, and a few more prayers for Karen, Faith and my parents, too. I'm flying to Virginia Monday and will be there about a week to help out and just spend time with David. Can't wait to get there. In the sincere words of our old TBone... Praying for us all, BeckyCW
  14. Just wanted to let you all know that Karen took David to the hospital last night with breathing problems. I understand he called awhile ago to let my parents know he was breathing better and to see if they were doing okay. Anyway, last I heard, he was fairly sure he'd be out in time to go see the neurologist this afternoon as planned, to get the results from last week's scans. Please say a prayer today for good news from those scans, for the wisdom of the doctors and nurses caring for David... and prayers for Karen, Faith, my parents, and especially David! Thank you all, BeckyCW

    Our Betplace

Betty's passing is our loss and heaven's gain. That may sound trite, but it's really what I feel. I can't put anything else into words. I miss her spirit here, and am so glad she had loving people at her side. BeckyCW
  16. Debi, you are too funny, and I think it's unanimous that you should submit this for publication. And don't be surprised if recruiters start calling for the next opening at the local hospital. I agree you should steer away from surgery, though. Glad you're feeling better. BeckyCW P.S. I agree with David -- USE that AC/DC thing to send any cells that are even thinking of cancer on that highway to hell.

    Connie B 2000

Go, Connie... go, Connie... go, Connie! (Try NOT to imagine me in a little cheerleading outfit dancing around...) BeckyCW
  18. Frank, It's all been said already, but I had to chime in. I love your attitude and will be on the lookout for hefty operatic women headed your way. I've got a radio that can play nasty rap music really loud, and I'm not afraid to use it! BeckyCW

Curtis, thanks for that -- and for being my neighbor. BeckyCW
  20. Ginny, thank you for letting us know about Betty. I wish I felt like Happy Dancing in her honor, but I just can't do that yet. We may need to create a Sad Dance to use temporarily, until we can get Betty's Happy Dance spirit back, as she always manages to do, no matter what. Betty, if someone is reading these to you, please know that I'm thinking of you and praying for you and glad you're in no pain. I think you are one of the bravest and most gracious people I know. ((((Hugs))) BeckyCW
  21. WELCOME BACK, Rick! I'm standing and cheering! BeckyCW
  22. Rick, Andrea's right! You get well and get home! I hate to hear that you're going through this, and hope we have good news about you soon. BeckyCW

Great to hear this -- Good news! I'm so glad. BeckyCW

    DavidC Update

Bad news and good news from C-Acres (via my folks): Bad: When Karen got home last night, David's fever was high and he was feeling pretty horrid, so she took him to the ER last night. He's now on meds for pneumonia. Good: They didn't keep him at the hospital, and my mom says he looks much better today and was out & about, doing things with Karen when I called. I did get to talk to my niece, whose little voice melted my heart, as usual. Please keep them all in your prayers, and thanks for all the support. BeckyCW
  25. Betty, you are in my prayers always. Sending you a hug, BeckyCW
