  1. Hi Darci, Carboplatin Taxol was the first chemo Mike was on. He tolerated it pretty well. It did cause him some fatigue enough to cause him to rest on about days 3-6 after treatment. He also had body aches , but not terribly bad. White cells dropped quite a bit also, but recovered. After about 2 weeks he started losing his hair and did lose it all. Overall, it was not too severe for him. I know it sounds like a lot , but it really wasn't that bad. Love, sue

  8. Andrea, Prayers for you and Mom. As for being shocked, I remember my mom's cardiologist offering that as an option. He acted like it was routine and no big deal. The thought sounds scary, but I really think it is done all the time. Hang in there. Love and prayers, Sue
  9. Woman in fishing boat A lovely couple is vacationing on a serene lake. One morning the husband returns to the cabin after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book. Along comes a game warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning Ma'am. What are you doing?" "Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?") "You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her. "I'm sorry officer, but I'm not fishing, I'm reading." "Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up." "If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman. "But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden. "That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment." "Have a nice day ma'am", and he left.

They better treat you good or you can scream to us to get help and we can bombard the hospital administrator with email .. They will know they have a VIP in there.. lol Seriously, will be hanging out at the pub and waiting for you to come home. Praying they really check you out and come up with some answers . Take care of yourself and keep in touch. Love, Sue
  16. Andrea, Both of my parents have A-fib also... controlled with meds. Actually, it can be serious and my Dad found out he had it after having a mild stroke due to the heart whipping up blood clots... Sounds like it is a blessing your mom was going for rehab and it was discovered. Prayers for you and mom always. Love, Sue

  18. Kim, I just finished reading your first post about your mom's "hospitalist" and now about this negligence. It truly scares the hell out of me. I'm so sorry these things have happened to your mom and to you. All of these things are inexcusable. The sad part is that all of us have to get involved and ask questions, follow up and if need be report things such as what happened to you and your mom. I sure hope she continues to feel better once her medications are straightened out. Sue
  19. Sorry you have to wait. Will be keeping you in my prayers for the best news. Sue
