Snowflake
....I'm now a carrier. My job was eliminated today. I thought I'd retire from the place, as both of my grandfathers did and a few uncles.... I'll be okay, thinking about going back to school, matter of fact. Don't know where I'll get in making the same, really worried about insurance, but I'm fine. Didn't even cry when the boss gave me the canned speech and walked me out, assuring me that someone would pack my personal effects and I could pick them up later. What's with that? Were I living with someone and broke up, I'd pack my own crap...
MsC1210
Awww Damn Becky I am so sorry to hear this. This economy just sucks and it HAS to get better soon!!!! Thinking of you and wishing I could do or say more to help Hugs Chris xoxo
Patti B
Becky- So sorry to hear this. Your boss sounds like a real @ss - thats ridiculous that you can't pack your own stuff. Good luck on the job search - never know - maybe something 10 times better will come up. Hugs - Patti B.
Flyman35
That just sucks Becky. They did the same thing to my old boss. She worked here for 11 years and then one day they just let her go and escorted her out the door. They told her they would ship her belonging to her house. Ain't that a bunch of crap?!! Hope things get better for you and you find something really great. Denise
SandraL
Sorry to hear that Becky. Maybe it will be a sign of better things to come for you. With that boss, probably a blessing in disguise!
Ry
I am so sorry Beck. I thought about you when I read that your company would be laying people off. Michigan is in such a mess right now and things just seem to be going downhill. I hope unemployment will help you until you find something else. I can't even imagine what a blow this was for you. Joe B
Hi Becky, hang in there and please don't worry....I believe that you have already beaten cancer... being NED for over 5 years. Job loss in comparison to beating the beast is nothing for someone as tough as you. I'll definitely say some prayers for you, these things have a way of turning out and sometimes can be a blessing in disguise... follow your dreams. Nick C
Sucks...I'm sorry. I hope this becomes a blessing for you and you find something much better.
Kasey
Wow, Becky, that really smarts, doesn't it ? I guess the guy figured you'd smash the computer or steal company secrets before you left ! You are one bright 'cookie' and I feel sure there is something out there for you. It's just a darn shame you have to go looking. Take the time to step back and regroup. I'm confident you'll be back in true "Snowflake' form in no time. Bad times and bad timing. I'm really sorry. Kasey
fillise
Becky, That stinks. I'm sorry to hear this and hope you will find something better soon! Susan
Connie B
Sorry to hear this Becky. Glad your taking it so well. My girlfriend works for Qwest (phone comp) and about 5 years ago they did the same thing with 150 employee's. She said they treated people like common criminals. Sucks! I'm sure you'll move onto bigger and better. Stay positive!
ginnyde
Beck, I am so sorry. I guess it is time for those 'big girl' pants. I am sure something good will be yours in the future. OBTW, even if you resigned from IBM, a manager stood by your desk to make sure you ONLY removed what was rightfully yours. Made you feel creepy. CaroleHammett
Becky: What is the basis for your termination? (I'm not asking out of idle curiosity, but because I've got some background in labor law and I'm wondering if it was legit). Affectionately, Carole
Geri
Sorry to hear about your new stresses, remember you survived lc so nothing can take you down! This has happened to Richard a couple of times and he's always ended up better off job wise, I'm wishing the same for you. I don't understand the escort out either, what would they do if you'd done something wrong? Go figure! Take care and don't forget to breathe. Isunique
Becky Sorry that they let you go, esp like that. It is their loss. That happened to me in Sept 08, it is hard, but you will survive. We LC people are all survivors, yes we get knocked down but we come back stronger and more resislent than before. Carole, most places now a days are hire at will fire at will, no excuses are needed. They might want to bring someone that will work for less. I am seeing alot of employees that have been with companies a long time being let go and employees that will work for less salary brought in. It is a tight market out there. Good luck Becky and try not to let it get you down. Take Care Sarah
chloesmom
Becky, I'm really sorry to hear that your job was eliminiated. That is a fear that sits deep within me as well, not for me, but for some of my family members. But, you, being a survivor of something way bigger than a job loss, will triumph in this. i hope you find exactly what you are looking for. carolhg
That is the pits Becky! Look for that door that opens when the other one closes. I am sure there is something better out there for you. Carol
