    Hi everyone

Teri: I am glad you are geting some strength back. Let it continue. I hope you can move around a bit now and get a little exercise without pain. Don M
  2. Cal: If you have no history of cancer, and no uptake is shown, you are probably ok. Try to put it out of your mind and see what it looks like in 3 months. It is still relativley small. Don M
  3. My brother had medicaid for his lung cancer treatment. Don M

    Update on Ken

Karen, you and Ken have my continued prayers. don M
  5. I had pt after my first surery but not after my second surgery. I really needed it after my first surgery because I had a rotator cuff going into the surgery. The pt gave me back my range of motion. early on in the therapy, they would massage my scar tissue with some ointment. The therepist said it would help reduce the amount of collagen that builds up in the scar tissue. I did chemo after my second surgery instead of pt. It appears I did not need it the second time because my range of motion is just fine and I have no residual aches or pains. Don M
  6. Kim: I hope you can have some fun times with your mom in the days ahead and that the new treatment works well for her. don M
  7. Welcome Lesley: I am sorry your sistr got cacner. The news of cancer can be very upsetting, but as one proceeds with a treatment plan, things go better. These days, there are effective treatments for late stage cancer. Don M

    Brain Scan?

I never had a brain scan until my third nodule, which is probably cancer. The previous 2 cancers were thought to be early stage, so I guess there was no concern about brain mets. But now, having a third nodule, we did a brain scan just to make sure it was clear. If I had distant mets in my body, I would want frequent brain scans. Don M

  12. Welcome; I would feel very comfortable with 4 years of being cancer free. If you made it this long, it probably won't come back. Don M
  13. Merrilee... welcome. You have a very good chance for a cure. Don M
  14. Welcome Henesey: I hope you mother in law can continue to be comfortable. Don M
  15. Hi Lisa: I hope your dad recovers soon from surgry. I think doing the chemo and radiation may be his best chance to whack the cancer way back, maybe even show no evidence of disease. It is a very rigorous treatment though. It is hard for some and not so hard for others. Just help your dad focus on getting out of the hospital and healed from surgry for now. Treatment decisons can be put off for a little while. Don M
  16. Welcome: I guess you know who NED is now. I think "palliative" teatment is a less aggressive form of teatment that is intended to lessen pain and symptoms of lung cancer. The survival rates can be good though. I hope you mom's cancer is knocked way back. Don M
  17. Welcome Gracie: I too am sorry you have to deal with the cancer. I think you will find that once you get a treatment plan going, you will fall into a routine and it won't seem quite as overwheming. Don M
