Hi Heather,hope your surgery goes fine. You will have some pain for awhile but dont be afraid to ask for pain med. I was on hydrocodone for about 6 months afterwards. I had my right lung removed and am getting along fine. I have to stop anc catch my breath more often but its ok, I still mow the yard and stuff like that. My prayers are with you. Hello scman,welcome. Altho I am fairly new here myself,I have found a lot of informaion and inspiration here.This is scarey stuff and it sure helps to share with others who know what you are feeling.At first I found reading alot of this was scarey and depressing but I get alot more positive out of it than negative.If you have questions feel free to post them and someone here will be able to relate or help you out. It sounds like you have a good jump on your cancer and I hope and pray that it will stay that way for you. May God bless.

Hi everyone,After my surgery i had gemzar and carboplatin chemo. In many posts I have read many have recieved gemcitabine and cisplatin. I was just curious id gemcitabine was the same as gemzar and if cisplatin was the same as carboplatin. Thank you.

Hi pew,I had to wait about 10 months before I was approved for ss disability. The place I worked at tho had a company do all the paperwork for me. I have heard also that sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times before you get approved but I dont know what they think you are supposed to live on in the meantime. Even after you are approved it takes 2 years before you are elgible for medicare. Sometimes its better to hire a person or lawyer who specializes in it. I wish you and your Mom all the best.(PRAYERS)
