  1. Just wondered if anyone who has had a lobectomy experiences muscle cramps on the side they had surgery on? It usually happens when I bend or twist or have overdone it. Hello to everyone! Sharon
  2. Prayers and hugs for you and Dave! Sharon
  3. I agree with your doctor. Many elderly people get the broken blood vessel in the eye and it will get better. Several of my aunts had it. Hope it goes away soon. Sharon

  5. I had an air leak after lobectomy but it sealed itself. I don't know if that is the hole you are referring to. They might be waiting to see if it will seal itself. I hope he will be better soon and on the road to recovery. Prayers for you both. Sharon
  6. Hi Nancy, I did not have chemo and radiation, but a friend of mine did. He lost a lot of weight and used to sleep a lot too. He did feel better when he was done with all his chemo and radiation. They used to give him compazine to prevent nausea and that seemed to work for him. He used to complain about his back hurting a lot, but he could walk pretty good. Hope your husband perks up and starts eating. I had lung surgery. I have the opposite problem. I'm eating like a pig. I think its the steroids from the advair I have to take for asthma. I'm always hungry. Prayers and hugs for both of you! Sharon
  7. Hello Melanie, Sorry you haven't been feeling well. Prayers and hugs. The folks from hospice are really nice and they will make sure you are comfortable. Hope you feel a little stronger soon. Sharon

  10. Uncle Doug, I wish you the best! They have very encouraging results with chemo on sclc. The lady who wrote and said she is a three year survivor is a great example of this. Best of luck to you! Sharon
  11. Hope everything turns out fine for you. I'm on Advair for my asthma and the lung surgery really left me short of breath. I was not before the surgery. I'm scared of the steroids. My Aunt's predisone caused her bones to snap like twigs. Now she has to take shots to build up her bone density. She was taking fosemax all along. The doctor told me the worse the Advair would do was cause osteoporosis and she thought I already have that. Did you ever have trouble with your bones because of your steroids? I'm glad you are doing so well. Sharon

  21. Best wishes to you Don on your surgery. I wondered if anyone had adhesions from lung surgery. There is something I do not understand. When I had surgery a year ago, I did not find out the pathology report on the surgery until a week or ten days after surgery. Don't they have to send it away to be analysed? How can they tell during surgery if it is cancer or not? Maybe the scar tissue is from the previous surgery. I wish you the best and hope it is not cancer. When I had the pet scan, something in the machine was poking me under the arm. The pet scan lit up on the underarm. I don.t believe it was cancer there and a visual and hand probing under the arm led the oncologist to agree with me. So don't worry too much about the pet scan. They aren't perfect either. Sharon
  22. Very sorry to hear this! Will pray for you and your family. Sharon
  23. Sorry Ella. I hope things get better for you soon. Prayers and a big hug! Sharon
  24. I was very sorry to hear about your sister. I guess when the cancer goes to the liver, it is very dangerous. My Mom died of cancer of the gall bladder that had spread to the liver. They surgically removed her gall bladder and a portion of the liver. She went for chemo. She only lived about a year after her surgery. She was only 62. I remember how terrible it was when she died, then my 26 year old sister died suddenly seven months later. My heart goes out to you and your family. Prayers and hugs for you! Sharon
  25. Best of luck to you! Hope the Tarceva does the trick! Sharon
