patscan
Well the 2 months rest has been wonderful, but the CT news was disappointing. Original mass remains stable, but new 7 mm mass has popped up mid left lung. There was also a 1 mm increase in node size and increased fluid....which explains the severe SOB over the past 3 weeks. Port will be installed this morning and we will dicuss treatment options with Dr. Wu next Thursday. I guess we will start 2nd line. Should we ask for a specific treatment? Mom is doing okay...hard to keep spirits up when it feels like we are starting from the beginning. But the gloves are going back on and we fight. Mendy
I have no recommendations for you...just prayers that this will be a minor setback for your mom. I hope the chemo is able to help her breath easier. Mendy

recce101
Candy: Happy your mom had a good 2-month rest, but sorry to hear about the setback. If she is not a candidate for Avastin, you might ask about Alimta. Here's a recent article by Dr. West: http://onctalk.com/2007/01/31/alimta-as ... therapy-2/ Always wishing the best for both of you. Flowergirlie
I am so sorry your mom is going through all of this. I hope the doctors will be able to help her be more comfortable right away. The chemo should make a difference pretty quickly with SOB. Please let us know of an update when you can. Flowergirlie
