Update on Aaron

Aaron and I want to thank you all for the incredible amount of support you have given us. I read Aaron all of your responses last night, and it really warmed his heart. We saw the Dr. again today and the results of the spinal MRI showed that there's a few tumors along the spine, in the back bones, and in his spinal fluid. It also showed that there is a new tumor at the base of his neck close to his spinal cord. They want to do radiation to the neck area to get that under control, and then they want to radiate his hip and his back to alleviate some of the pain he's having. The doctor said again today that we have exhausted the chemotherapy options for Aaron, and his neuropathy is so bad I don't think he wants any more anyway. There's only a few clinical trials that Aaron would qualify for, and Dr. Krug is still researching more. The problem is that Aaron has to be 4 weeks out of radiation to be able to start one of the trials. I think our main concern right now is getting rid of the unbearable pain he has. He can start the radiation as early as tomorrow, but we haven't confirmed it yet. It looks like he may or may not get out of the hospital in time for Christmas. Let's hope the radiation will help the pain, and we can get him started on a clinical trial.

Well, this just sucks. Can't the stupid cancer take the holidays off. Keeping you both in our prayers that things get under control here for you both very soon. Hopefully they can get Aaron's pain under control quickly. Please keep us posted, and don't hesitate to ask if you need anything.

Dear Aaron and Julia, I'm praying for courage, strenght and peace for both of you. I hope they start the radiation today and he gets releif immediately. I'm also praying for Aaron coming home for Christmas and for your doctor to find the perfect trial for him. You have always been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be there. God bless you both. Love, Liz

Julia & Aaron,

I only now saw your posts, Julia. I'm so sorry you're in the hospital and having such pain, Aaron.

I'm thinking of you both and saying prayers for you. I hope that you will be home for Christmas. I especially hope that the radiation helps with the pain and that you can find a suitable clinical trial.

I wish I lived closer so I could bring you dinner and give you both a real hug...

With love,

Hi Julia, I don't post much on this board, but read often and am definitely keeping you and Aaron in my prayers. I hope that the spine tumors respond to radiation really quickly so that you can get into a trial soon! I'm on the path to a trial myself and am very hopeful that it holds the answer. I hope that Aaron can get rid of the pain quickly and get on the road to healing.

Lori
