Fay A.
which is funny when you know that I have spent 1/3 of my life outside the United States, and consider my "stateside home" as Cape Cod, Massachusetts. To find out if you are Yankee or Dixie check out the following: http://www.chuckchamblee.com/dom/fun/ya ... e_quiz.htm
Fay A.
Oh...and I hope you will post your results.
J.C.
Fay, I'm French (mother language) I live in Canada all my life, and I got 55% side of Dixie ?????? J.C.
beckyg
I got a 78% Dixie score. Not too surprising--I have lived in Texas all my life except the years I was in North Florida (more like Georgia than like South Florida). Becky
mhutch1366
I got a 55% Dixie score.... based on the responses from being raised in New England, with the exception of y'all.... I did a winter in New Orleans so I know the difference between y'all and all y'all. I don't credit living the last 20 yrs in Maryland with much. Some of the answers were from the midwest or the Great Lakes region (huh?). Think that maybe that's cause 55% (or so ) of the US is South of the Mason Dixon line? I'm thinking about it..... cathy
41% yankee.. Hmm cant figure that out...been in Mi. all my life..oh well
pritchie
I tested 58% Dixie. I thought I would test higher since I was born and raised in Alabama(stationed in Texas twice). My husband who is from Illinois tested 47% Yankee. He liked the one for the drive-thru beverage store he called that convenience. DeanCarl
72% Dixie. Born and raised on the Canadien border in Washington State and most of the rest of my life in California. (well... it's SOUTHERN California ... does that count? ) Dean
Elaine
Dean and all; Got you all beat--84% Dixie--grew up in midwest and lived ALL of my adult like in the North/NorthMidwest. Hmmmm lol Elaine
ginnyde
Ok, I came out 49% Yankee and I have never lived south of Philadelphia. But then I took a quiz on who I should vote for and I who thought I was pretty much a liberal Republican (Yes there is such an animal) came out overwhelmingly for Kerry. Sharpton 2nd, Edwards 3rd and Bush a distant 6th. Wow!!! Ginny
Guest DaveG
45% Yankee. That's what I get for spending 20 years in the army and living all over the US, plus Korea, Japan, and Hawaii. I was waiting to see the Hawaian saying: COMONIWANNALAIU and see how that is translated. I bet Becky and a few others will figure out that Hawaiin saying. betplace
Well I came out just barely Yankee at 42%, grew up in Michigan till age 36 and have lived in Florida since. so I guess that makes me a Flankee? Blessings Betty

Snowflake
MaryAnn, I think that's what he's hoping for! Should we start a poll?? ...and speaking of "poles", my question is this - since showgirls dance dirty with their poles, would that make them "pole cats"?? HEREEE kitty, kitty, kitty.... mhutch1366
geez, becky, you're every bit as bad as David is.....
Fay A.
The only "POLE" I want to see used on David G. is the one that whomps him. (whomps: southern for take a thick stick and smack some sense into the boy.)
David A
44% yankee, barely in the yankee, though I've lived in Michigan for 44 of my 45 years

lilyjohn
63% Dixie and I thought I got nothing out of 32 years in Louisiana. Born and raised California girl but I guess that Oklahoma/Arkansas heritage came into it somewhere.

Angie Daughter of Bill
Oh my goodness!! I am 99% Dixie!!! No surprise since I was born and raised and am still in Alabama. I guess I am one of those true "southern rednecks"!!!! Yeeehawwwww! Angie
ViVi
I only scored 73% southern but if you could hear my drawl, you would expect 173%! ViVi P.S. Actually, it's a "dialect", not a "drawl"!
teresag
53% Dixie; must be the two years of my infancy spent in Virginia before moving to Hawaii, then onto Ohio, and finally beautiful Oregon. Quite a few of my answers were characteristic of the Great Lakes region.
