  1. Happy Birthday, Beth. Find a good book and a great rental movie. Send someone out for them, you deserve it. Spend the time you don't feel good distracting yourself. It is very effective for when you can't do anything. I spend a LOT of time like that .... saw a lot of good movies, read a lot of good books. Had a lot of steaks for lunch when nobody else was looking too.... Hugs.. XOXOXOXOX MaryAnn

  13. Although I have posted on the other thread, I couldn't NOT post here. I concur. Betty ROCKS! And CANCER SUCKS. Love you, MaryAnn
  14. Dear dear Betty, I am so sorry to hear you are out of options. You have "happy danced" your way across these boards in grace and good humor, and touched us all with your compassion for others. I want you to know how much you are loved, and that we will be here for you should you wish quiet companionship, to rant and rave, to curse cancer, or just someone else to happy dance with. I sent you a PM. I want to thank you for writing such a beautiful note to us. Truly a classy lady! XOXOXOXOOXOX Love and Prayers, always, MaryAnn
  15. Hang tough, sweetie. Quite likely the racing heart was due to the med changes, maybe they happened too fast. Praying everything is alright.... and that you can let us know you're ok. XOXOXOX Prayers, always, MaryAnn
  16. I am so very sorry to hear, Tess. XOXOX Prayers, always MaryAnn
  17. Angie, If Nashville says inoperable, call Dr. Schrump. He helped Kasey when Fox-Chase said she was inoperable. I know it's a little farther, but our tax dollars support him... and he's world class as a lung cancer surgeon.
  18. Alisa, Welcome to the 5 year mark. I made it this month as well. I now go yearly not every six months, but to the best of my knowledge, I will be getting full scans (including head MRI). Of course, I could be wrong about contrast. Celebrate!! and I am sure if the doctor sees something he doesn't like, he'll call for the expanded scan w/contrast. XOXOXOX Prayers, always, MaryAnn
  19. Unfortunately, no. What it does affects the preexisting tissue, and I think a tumor would be new growth. That's why they kept telling me in PT I had to keep doing these exercises forever. I should have listened better, because things are tightening up now and a wee bit uncomfortable at time. XOXOX MaryAnn
  20. Dear gal, I agree. Spent quality time with him; get him something that's a treat, whether it be chocolates, fruit, or flowers. Love him up, talk to him, or sit quietly and hold his hand. He will know how he is loved, and you will remember this as the best gift -- giving of yourself. XOXOXOX Prayers, MaryAnn
  21. I lost my hair 18 days after the chemo. In anticipation I had gotten a very short haircut, and when I started to see hair coming out, I got it shaved (clipped) off. I didn't lost my eyelashes or eyebrows, but lost the rest. The soft caps at night also prevent heat loss, and for me at least, itching. Hair did grow back much the same as it was before. I did get a wig but found it hot and heavy, and very strange to wear. Good luck! and keep us posted. XOXOXOX Prayers, MaryAnn
  22. Hi jang, Welcome, I am glad you found us. I also lost my upper left lobe, and a bit more. It is fortunate that you can have VATS. UMBC is good. Do you have a good oncologist? Consider the option of chemo as a form of systemic insurance to prevent recurrence. Easier to do it now than regret later. I will keep you in my prayers; you are one of the lucky ones, diagnosed early and able to have VATS. Good luck, and keep us posted. XOXOX Prayers, MaryAnn
  23. As usual, Becky is first in line with common sense wisdom. Do what you think you should do, to please yourself. You know what's in your heart. I am so sorry for your loss. It's okay to cry about your dog, I know I would too. Just remember, one foot in front of the other, one day at a time. XOXOXOX Prayers, always, MaryAnn
  24. Love you too, Joanie, Vent away. Life's rough, and unfair. It's okay to be mad that you're hurt. I have always thought that there had to be justice in the next world, cause that's all that kept me going sometimes in this one. I am so very very sorry about your daughter... Prayers..XOXOXOX MaryAnn
  25. Good deal all around! XOXOX MaryAnn
