  1. Hi Karen, Glad you checked in. I was just thinking about you and Paddy yesterday. I'm glad to hear that all are doing well. Come when you can, it's always a treat to hear from you. Love, Sue
  2. Pat and Brian, I wish I could say something that would help. I do hope you get lots of help from family and from hospice. This just saddens me so much that I find myself at a total loss for words. Just know that my prayers continue . Love to you both. Love, Sue
  3. Wonderful pictures , Leslie. Thank you for sharing them with us. Love, Sue
  4. Ohhh (((Cindi))), Cindi , here you were emailing me and you never told me this stuff. I just don't know what we are going to do with you. We love you and want to know what is going on with you. I'm so sorry about the prednisone, but Cindi it does help. I sure hope it is helping you and maybe you won't have to stay on such high doses a long time. Please keep us informed as to what is going on with you ok... Love, Sue
  5. I'm so happy for you. Wonderful news!!! Sue
  6. Hi Sharon, As Kasey has said, the more we know about your brother's case the better for us to be able to help you. As you look around and read all the profiles here, you will see that there are many treatments and options available . The one thing I guess you can do is to make him aware that these options do exist. There's so much information here , as well as hope , and support. Looking forward to knowing you better. Sue
  7. (((Peggy))), It really warmed my heart to see you say that you are "more better". You are doing great. I think it's wonderful that you have this project to keep your mind moving forward. I just know Don is so pleased . He would love it because you do or should I say, he does love it.. that is what I believe. Take care Peggy and come when you can. Love, Sue
  8. (((Donna))), I would give anything if I knew the right thing to say to you, but I don't know if there is a right thing. It hurts to lose those we love. I'm praying for your Donna. I'm praying for you to find the strength to get through the days ahead. If you have a friend or relative you can talk to, I would advise you to call them . You really need someone to talk to. God be with you. Love, Sue
  9. oh Janet, I am so very sorry for your loss. God be with you and your family in the days ahead. Love, Sue

  11. Christy, Your loss touches me deeply. I am so very sorry and I want you to know that your family is in my prayers. God be with all of you. Love, Sue
  12. Hi Bill, As others have said, everyone has a different response. Mike had the Carboplatin/Taxol to start with and no real results. He later had Taxotere and did have shrinkage. As Connie suggested, reading profiles may help answer some of your questions. I know that has helped us. Never ever hesitate to ask questions. It seems there is always someone here that has had a similar experience, treatment or diagnosis. Above all , remember you are unique and how you respond may be different from everyone else. Best of luck to you. Sue
  13. Welcome Sheri, We are glad to finally get to meet you and your Dad. I'm so happy to hear that you have good news to celebrate at Cindi's. Since you have been lurking , you know that we gather there regularly to celebrate and support one another in many ways. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Sue
  14. Continued prayers for you , Pammie. Love, Sue
  15. Pam, You sound so much better. Yes, having a medical professional that makes us feel confident plus displays compassion at the same time is very comforting. It sounds like you have a plan ahead. Wishing you well. Know that we will be here for you. Sue
  16. Pat, I wish I could say or do something that would help. It sounds like you are doing everything you can . There is a point when you need to know to turn it over to God. You have been such a wonderful wife to Brian. The two of you have your strong faith . Continue to pray and love one another . Whatever happens from here on out is in God's hands. Know that I am praying for you both. Love, Sue
  17. Hugs for both of you. I think it's wonderful you had the chance to meet. Addie, I hope this finds you feeling better . You stay in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Sue
  18. Kim, This is wonderful news. Love, Sue
  19. New day, another hug for you... Hope it is a better day. Love, Sue
  20. Our Thanksgiving will be rather traditional , as well. I will cook for hubby and my two sons. I hate to cook and will use a lot of packaged foods to help and let Mrs. Smith do my pumpkin pie. Some foods that were standard when my grandmother was living were potato salad and collards. She also made the yummiest sage dressing with the giblets cut up in it. She was one of 10 children and was the world's most wonderful cook. Sue
  21. Keeping the best thoughts for you, bc. That Tarceva rash is indescribeable. Mike had to quit Tarceva due to shortness of breath, but he had a rash like you describe within 3 to 5 days. The onc was concerned because of the white heads and possiblility of infection. Do you have any antibiotic ointment for it? Mike used one to keep down the possibility of infection. Let us know what the onc says. Sounds like you may be having some good results from it. Sue
  22. Jim, You have such a wonderful attitude. I'm sure I don't need to tell you , but the radiation continues to work quite a while after you quit. You have my prayers for excellent results. Dec. 9th is a day to watch on my calender. God Bless. Sue
  23. Welcome icbn, Glad to have you here with us. My husband, Mike had his right lung removed 4 1/2 years ago and during all this time , shortness of breath was caused on several occasions for various reasons. There is no one set answer to the cause. I do agree with Gail that you might seek the help of a pulmonologist if you don't already have one. Mike goes to his with all of his breathing issues. Sue
