  3. Val, You have to know that you can't do all that by yourself. You had your hands full before anticipating the arrival of the relatives. Let them know how overwhelmed you are. Ask for their help. Turn the situation into your advantage. I'm so sorry you are so worried about your mom right now. I can relate because I'm worried about my hubby right now also. I can tell you that I would tell the relatives "I'm so glad you are coming, I sure could use your help here." .. One day at a time Val. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. Love and Prayers, Sue

  6. Karen, It's so good to hear from you. I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say that you have been on our minds and in our prayers. It sounds like you have been quite busy and it's good to hear that Faith is doing well. Knowing she is doing okay is a comfort to you, I'm sure. Gonna jump out of here for now, but will be looking forward to your return. It's just not the same without you. Take care. Love and Prayers, Sue
  7. Pam, I would like to add that there have been many times that I have put too much importance on what the doctor said or didn't say. Trying to second guess them is nearly impossible. Just maybe he wants the two of you so that you can make a decision about the next treatment plan plus I'm sure they probably don't want you to drive. I can understand how you feel, but there have been many times that i misread what docs did and didn't say. Hang in there and know that we are all hoping and praying for the best. Love and Prayers, Sue
  8. TAnn, Sure hope you have reached the doctor and have some relief from your pain. Keep us posted . We care. Love and Prayers, Sue

  13. If Claire would be interested, I belong to a wonderful online smoking cessation support group. It's www.whyquit.com . Whether she joins or not, this site is loaded with educational material and lots of wonderful people. I quit smoking over 2 years ago after smoking 38 years and Mike quit when he got sick in 2001 , just prior to his cancer diagnosis. It's not always easy to quit, but it sure helps if you know all the benefits that you get from quitting and how to stay quit. Sue
  14. Woo Hoo , Don and Peggy!!! Love and Prayers, Sue
  15. Gay , Thanks for the update. Dean is such a special member here. His posts always read like a classic novel. He is truly in touch with life and my life is richer for having been touched by his words. Tell him we love him, miss him and wish him a speedy recovery. God be with both of you. Love and Prayers, Sue
  16. Maryanne, Glad to hear Joel finished his chemo, but sorry about the shingles. I have posted a few posts about this recently. Mike had shingles the beginning of June. His were on his chest , under his arm and around to his back. The doctor gave him Famvir for it. I will have to say that it got rid of the shingles . He is having an ongoing problem due mental confusion that developed at the time the meds were started , but don't let our story discourage you. Our problems may just be coincidental. Anyhow, in answer to your question, the Famvir did work and we were told the shingles could be brought on by chemotherapy and or steroids. It is the herpes zoster virus (the same as chicken pox) that lies dormant , but can surface when the immune system is in a weakened condition. A person with shingles can give chicken pox to someone that never had them. Hope Joel will soon feel better. Love and Prayers, Sue
  17. You have my prayers Carol. Hope all has gone well with your surgery. Will be looking for your update, as soon as you are able. Love and Prayers, Sue

  25. Pat and Brian, Been waiting for this update and praying for you . It's in God's hands. You need to trust in God and do as the doctor has said. It will give you strength to get through this. In my time at this site, I have seen so many things turn around and I've seen them not, but one thing that didn't change, I felt God will help us through no matter what. Love you guys. Love and Prayers , sue
