  1. My oldest son had his second surgery in two weeks on a broken arm and shoulder. Last I heard, so far so good. I am grateful for that . Mom had her internist appointment today and he thought she was doing outstanding . I'm very grateful for that too. Has been a good day. Sue
  2. Wonderful News, Teresa. Happy for you, Dad and the family. Sue

Thanks for posting, Mitchell and Happy Birthday to your Mom. I love reading that the reason you haven't posted is that everyone is doing well. Don't forget you have a family here who cares. God Bless, Sue
  4. Congratulations to you and your family, Ann. Can hardly wait to see pics of your new grandson. Sue
  5. I don't know if this has been shared here before, but even if it has, it is worth repeating. In July 2006, a short 3-minute movie was launched on the Internet called The Dash. Since then, over 40 million people from around the world have watched it; and over 20,000 a day continue to watch it as a result of people passing it along. I hope you enjoy this movie and share it with those who are close to you. Click This Link to View: http://www.dashpoemmovie.com/
  6. Dina, I'm so sorry to read about your M-I-L . Will keep you, her and your family in my prayers. God Bless, Sue
  7. (((Randy))), I have to tell you that I am all tears here. I went back and reread your original post and your most recent post. I remember Debbi running to the light. Those words made an impact on me. In only a little over a month later after you lost your Deb, I lost my Mike. Now, I can truly relate now to what you felt then and to what you feel now. God Bless you Randy. Deb was so blessed to have you for a husband. Hugs, Sue
  8. (((Steph))), I was looking for an update from you and I am so very sorry to read that you have lost your beautiful Mother. May God be with you and your family now and during the difficult days ahead. Sue
  9. ((((Peggy)))), I am so so sorry to hear about your stroke. So many times, I have thought to myself "I'm going to write to Peggy today" and then I would get busy and well, there is no excuse. I will tell you that you have been in my thoughts and prayers, as well as your son. It's so good to see your post, as always, but it makes me sad to see you going through so many hard times. It sounds like you are, once again, gathering all your strength and determination and moving right along. You are such an inspiration to me Peggy. You always have been. Hope you will keep in touch and know that you haven't been forgotten. Take good care of yourself. Love, Sue
  10. Jill, You and your family are in my prayers. Sue
  11. I'm here.... hope I'm not too late. Happy Birthday Harry and Geri. Remembering Tina's Dad, as well. I'll have a beer with Ry. Sue

  15. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE AND THINKING, SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT OLD. WELL. YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE. MY NAME IS ALICE SMITH AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME. SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 30-ODD YEARS AGO. COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN? UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT. THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL . "YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG," HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE. "WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?" I ASKED. HE ANSWERED , "IN 1975. WHY DO YOU ASK?" "YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!", I EXCLAIMED. HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY. THEN, THAT UGLY, OLD, BALD, WRINKLED, FAT *ss, GRAY-HAIRED, DECREPIT SON-OF-A-B ASKED, "WHAT DID YOU TEACH ???"

    It's Over.

Oh Andy, This is such heartbreaking news. I am so very sorry. It sounds like he died of causes other than cancer. I'm glad you can find comfort in the fact that he suffered little and he passed so quickly, but I know that it must seem so surreal at this point. My condolences to you and your family and may God be with you . Sue

    Overwhelmed

((((Sharon)))), I can't imagine what that must have been like for you. I have to believe that your friend was suffering in her own way. May God have mercy on her and may she rest in peace. God be with her family . So so sad. Sue
  18. Kasey , thanks for starting this thread to ask about our members. Nyka, I think many of us can relate to how you are feeling . I know that I have taken a couple of breaks from this board, in the past . Sometimes , you just need that, but remember we are a family here and, like real families , we will be here to welcome you home when you decide you are ready to return. Sue
  19. Kelly , I'm so sorry. This is so sad. It's hard for me to read these stories and understand why. I wouldn't know what to say to the kids either.. just give em big big hugs. Sue
  20. Bobby, I have had many dreams of Mike. They vary from him looking very healthy to being very ill. In some, I can't touch him and in others I can , but then the dream seems to end. I think so much of it just has to do with the subconcious mind. I haven't really been comforted by my dreams. I am more comforted by remembering things Mike said in the weeks, days and then hours before he died. I'd have to say that my dreams are disturbing. Sue
  21. Kelly, You have my heartfelt sympathy. Thank you for letting us know and know that we will be here for you if you need us. Everyone here understands. God Bless, Sue
  22. I would be very happy if I could purchase everything on the internet. Hate to shop. Sue
  23. (((Tammy))), There just aren't words to express the sympathy I feel for your friend, her family and for you. She is blessed to have you for a friend. You understand and I know you will continue to do what you do best, giving of yourself to her. God Bless both of you, family and friends. Love, Sue
