Don Wood Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Lucie was worried that her hearing loss in the right ear, since it seemed to have gotten a little worse, was due to a tumor in the skull or brain. We know the radiation to the skull more than a year ago caused the major loss. The onc decided to have a CAT scan of the right skull area last Friday. Report received today: No tumors! No abnormalities! Don't you just love those kind of reports? Hopefully, she can rest assured now. Had er fifth cycle of chemo today, so we are anticipating a downer time this coming week. Don Quote

shineladysue Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Great news for our Lucie!!! Was wondering if the chemo itself could be responsible for the hearing loss. I know Cisplatin is known to cause it, but don't know about Carboplatin. Thinking back though, Mike's hearing got worse and worse over time, as well. Good luck with the coming up treatment. Always in my prayers. Love, Sue Quote
