Nancy B Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 The lymph node (1.6 cm) lit up on the PET scan and the consensus is that it is a recurrence. Only problem is they won't know how to treat it til they biopsy it since I have had both nsc and sc. My oncologist, surgeon, and pulmonologist are meeting today to decide how to proceed. Will probably mean surgery to get a piece of it. I will keep you up-dated and prayers appreciated. Thanks, Nancy B Quote

eppie Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I hope they do a chemo assay to determine which chemo will work best. Much love, Eppie Quote
mamasbabygirl Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 That's what I was thinking Eppie. Do you know if they do this for you? Seems to be the route to go... Prayers for you that this is nothing at all... Quote
Ry Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Rats Nancy-- I hope it is just an infection. I read an article not too long ago and the doctor said you shouldn't assume cancer -- lymph nodes swell, that is their job. I am hoping the uptake was low and you're back here posting it was a false alarm. Quote
tnmynatt Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 CRAP!! CRAP!! CRAP!! I'm praying that it is a mistake and not cancer. We are behind you and here to support you. Quote
Sheri Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Hi Nancy, We've all heard how PET scans can produce false positives. Let's hope this is the case for you. I'm crossing my fingers for you. Quote
