Snowflake Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 So, like, I FINALLY noticed today's date and realized what it was that was bugging me about it... One year ago today, I went for my CT-guided fine-needle biopsy and one year ago today I received my diagnosis and thought the world had just about ended... ...and here I am. Guess it really didn't end, just tilted a little... (Okay, A LOT - it tilted A LOT). Glad I finally ended up with all you folks, you make the journey seem more like a walk in the park...in the rain...with a faulty umbrella...and leaky boots...and the sniffles with no Kleenex...and no rain coat...but MIGHTY FINE companions! Love ya all (even the cranky old men)! Becky Quote
Donna G Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Happy Anniversary! One year survivor and rolling! Donna G Quote
mhutch1366 Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 dear dear Becky, Couldn't ask for better travelling companions. Sounds like it's time for a bubble bath and serenade, followed by: A steak and lobster dinner or whatever else lights your fire. Since my diagnosis I have been on fire for red meat -- can you say steak?? Hats off and a toast to you, dear, "ain't it grand to be alive to witch!!!" (quote from a friend with lc.) Love ya, MaryAnn Quote
Snowflake Posted January 28, 2004 Author Posted January 28, 2004 Thanks, Donna! Hmmm...isn't enough room in my bathroom for a serenade - one can soak one's feet in the tub whilst sitting on the pot! How's a mariachi band gonna fit?? (PLEEZE, not the hubby with a kazoo again!) LOL LOVE that quote, MaryAnn...think I just may highjack it for use in a highly inappropriate venue if ever given the chance. Cocktails with the Queen, maybe? Oh yeah, red meat....steaks with fried-in-butter fungus..mmmMMMmmm Baked tater with loads of butter and sour cream (oh baby, hear them arteries hardening - carbs and calories, Viagra of the blood system...) and a big ol' hunk of turtle cheesecake OR fudge brownie covered with ice cream and melted fudge for dessert.... Oh man, I'm drooling in my keyboard! My big (BAD) craving is Double Stuf Oreos and milk...a pound package doesn't last two days at my house (but don't tell Ry, she'll post my weight after the weigh in!). Quote
Nancy O. Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Hey Becky, one year is darn good. I love steak, but it's got to be medium rare. When I heard that red meat was bad for you I almost cried, but then I said the hell with it. I can't smoke, drink or take drugs; I'll be damned if I'll give up the red meat. I just try not to eat as much of it. I love beef. Celebrate. Enjoy life today. Love Nancy O. Quote
J.C. Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Becky, One day of the diet wont hurt......will it? Everybody should be allowed a free day on a special occasion. Congratulations on the anniversary, many more coming. Hugs J.C. Quote
ginnyde Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Dear Anniversay Queen, You are sharing this important date with the Duke's 62nd birthday. Yep, I married a much. much, much older man. Red meat, that's all the Duke will eat. (Maybe some shrimp cocktail). He's having steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions for his birthday dinner. Then Ben and Jerry's Pistachio Pistachio ice cream. He is like a pregnant woman with his cravings. But as long as he is getting mucho calories, I am mucho happy. Becky, may you celebrate mucho, mucho, mucho, mucho, anniversaries of your dx. We need you here always. Love, Ginny Quote
