brm1949 Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Thanks everyone for your prayers and support. What they did was remove the whole right side parotid gland. Not only were the lymph nodes positive but also a tumor within the gland itself. Once again it was Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Dr believes he got it all but I will get radiation after I heal to kill any cells he may have missed or spilled. Will have a full pathology report next Tuesday. The surgery went well. Went home next day. I will keep you updated, once again thanks for your support and prayers. Quote
Hebbie Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 I am so glad that the surgery went well and the doctor feels confident. Also glad to hear that they are going to give you radiation as a precautionary measure -- never hurts to cover all the bases! Now, get some rest and let your body recouperate!! Heather Quote
