Andrea
They found a 4mm something in his brain. No way to tell if it is cancer. If it is, the pulmo said they can do Gamma Knife. But we all know that makes it a Stage IV. :(:(
Treebywater
Oh Andrea... All these scary ifs.... Remember they are still only ifs. Doubling up on the prayers. (((((Andrea)))))) ((((((Andrea's Dad))))) ((((((Andrea's Mom)))))
Andrea
I know, they are only "ifs". It is the waiting that is hard. The pulmo said it could also be a weird infection. He was just surprised to find anything in the brain. I mean I always did think my dad was empty headed The surgery will answer all the questions. If this is all a scare, he owes me a big batch of egg salad. I decided I wanted him to make me egg salad on my bed rest (I had a weird craving) and then all heck broke loose and I never got it I actually had an egg salad sandwhich for lunch at the hospital for his biopsy since he never got to make it for me and it was icky. Nushka
Andrea, Bless your heart, the waiting is the worst part. Praying that you get your egg salad soon and that your dad has no problems with his surgery. Maybe this wont be major surgery after all. We can at least hope it isn't. Nina I am with Peggy, take more xanax and try to calm down a little. I am more like you than I admit most times. I worry about everything and try to keep my mouth shut until I know what I am dealing with. Most of the time its not as bad as I imagined. Andrea
His surgery is this Friday. I am cutting and pasting the e-mail I sent out to family/friends: I have no idea what kind of surgery it is though. We met with the surgeon last night, they believe there might be two primary lung cancers (NSCLC and a BAC). Unbelievable since he had NO symptoms and this was a RANDOM finding. I think they are first going to look at the big one and if it is cancer remove the right upper lobe. I am not sure if they are going to remove the other nodules b/c it might be too much lung removed since it is on the left lung. There is also a 4mm brain tumor adding more confusion b/c if that is a cancer from the lung then surgery is pointless anyway. But I think they are ignoring that for now. (The surgeon was also impressed with my knowledge :)) I hope this is all one big joke I am going for a chest xray tomrorow b/c I am paranoid, my luck they will find something to follow up b/c they always seem to do. If you want to see a picture of my dad taken just a few weeks ago and/or sponsor me in a lung cancer walk (100% of proceeds to go lung cancer RESEARCH) go to https://secure.campagne-online.com/regi ... onID=10158 PS--Please still no phone calls We don't want to be rude, but we can't talk and we have to answer all phone b/c we get medical calls at weird times. Thanks for all the good wishes!
