KerryToo
Married 14 years to my soul mate, Mike and have 2 wonderful daughters (Lacey 12, and Natalie 10). We have lost all of our parents to LC in a 5 year time period. We are moving forward, living for our daughters and trying not to worry (too much) about genetics. I come here often to see how my LC friends are doing and so sad to see so many new friends joining the club that no one wants to join. But if we need to, THIS is the best club to join for support! My prayers, and my best to everyone dealing with this disease. God Bless.

Eileen
I have been here since day one . We had a prior forum before Rick and Katie started this great one. I live on Long Island and work in Manhattan Had my right lobe removed in 2000 I was lucky and was diagnosed at stage 1A and did not have chemo nor radiation. However, my sister was diagnosed two and a half years ago and had some positive lymph nodes and had a wedge resection and went through chemo and radiation--so far all is good! Tom K
I’m Tom and I am coming up on my 2 year anniversary since diagnoses. This past summer, my little girl died from heat stroke. She was only 23 years old. Rina and I are trying to go on with our lives, but this struggle is so much harder than our battle with cancer. I pray every day that God will help me understand why there has to be so much pain in this world. I have not been very active on the site lately, I tried, but it is just hard for me to help others right now. Tracy’s death seems to overshadow everything in my world. I know it will take more time to come to terms with our loss and that the first Christmas without her will be particularly difficult. But, I believe in the power of prayer and I thank all of you for your support and concern.

jang
I'm Jan from Southern Maryland, where I've lived most of my life. I have been married to Rick for 14 years. I have two daughters, Erin (22) and Kara (13). I also have 2 cats, Echo and Princess. I lost my cousin Kathi 4 years ago to SCLC. Then I was diagnosed with Stage 1A NSCLC a year a half later. I had surgery and have been cancer free for 2 1/2 years! I have had many jobs over the years, most recently IT sales for a defense contractor. After 10 years, I quit out of frustration. After being unemployed (and loving it) for 3 months, I have decided to start my own company. "Infinite Errands" was started in November. It is a concierge and errand service. I have my first job in two weeks. I am excited about working for myself for a change. I have had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Katie in Austin at a Lance Armstrong Summit Meeting. I am so grateful for her and Rick for starting this website. I have met many people, and a few that I am sure I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. Dollfinn
Hi All~ My name is Mary and my husbands name is Jerry ( kinda makes me want to break out in song!) We have 3 fabulous boys who are a constant source of pride and joy, Brad 25, Gerard 21, Daniel 18. All doing well at the game of life. Jerry is a retired conductor from the LIRR after 32 yrs. He is a stage III prostate Ca. suvivor! Thank the Lord as I need him now. I am a Registared Nurse here in West Islip, Long Island. I work in the same day surgery unit, but of recent, am "semi-retired". That is very frustrating. I finished my Tx's for IIIB in Sept, so I just hang out waiting for my neuroapathy to pan out. Our plan now,( all the boys are out of the house at this point) is to be the best darn house guests anywhere we are invited! All those "you really must come visits" over the years that we were to busy to entertain...Here we go! Blessing to all on this site who bring me great info, and much hope. Family is dwindling-lost dad when I was 18 (he was 40), hubby when I was 27 (he was 29) and now mom who was 52 in September 06. On the bright side, I have 2 uncles and an aunt who love me and are here for me. After working in Financial Services for many years, I am now a full-time student. I am fulfilling a promise to myself and my precious mama to get my degree. Upon graduation, I will be a high school French/English teacher- I am trying to get certified in both. The wonderful people here have held me up more times than I can count. Your stories also inspired my mama to fight the good fight. When I get stressed out with school, kids, house, etc., I picture my mama smiling proud on my graduation day and it gives me strength to push on...
